What is mingw64-libidn2

Libidn2 is an implementation of the IDNA2008 specifications in RFC 5890, 5891, 5892, 5893 and TR46 for internationalized domain names (IDN). It is a standalone library, without any dependency on libidn.

We can use yum or dnf to install mingw64-libidn2 on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mingw64-libidn2.

Install mingw64-libidn2 on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-libidn2 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mingw64-libidn2

Install mingw64-libidn2 on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall mingw64-libidn2 on AlmaLinux 8

To uninstall only the mingw64-libidn2 package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove mingw64-libidn2
