How To Install microhope on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install microhope
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is microhope
microhope is:
This package provides a set of example programs to drive an ATmega32 microcontroller, together with a tutorial explaining how to compile them, upload them to the microcontroller, and how to make simple and more complicated modifications. It is meant to be used with the “microhope” board which makes it easy to upload code to the microcontroller through a USB link.
In addition to examples there is a library to drive all of the peripherals available on the “microhope” board: LED, LCD display, ADC connected to sensors.
A Graphic User Interface is provided too.
There are three methods to install microhope
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install microhope Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install microhope
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install microhope
Install microhope Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install microhope
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install microhope
Install microhope Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install microhope
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install microhope
How To Uninstall microhope on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the microhope
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove microhope
Uninstall microhope And Its Dependencies
To uninstall microhope
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove microhope
Remove microhope Configurations and Data
To remove microhope
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge microhope
Remove microhope configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove microhope
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge microhope
