How To Install mgba-common on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install mgba-common on Kali Linux.

What is mgba-common

mgba-common is:

mGBA is a new emulator for running Game Boy Advance games. It aims to be faster and more accurate than many existing Game Boy Advance emulators, as well as adding features that other emulators lack.

This package provides the common files for mGBA, such as shaders and DAT files.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install mgba-common using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install mgba-common

How To Uninstall mgba-common on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the mgba-common package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove mgba-common

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mgba-common

To remove mgba-common configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge mgba-common
