In this tutorial we learn how to install mfcuk on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is mfcuk

mfcuk is:

Toolkit containing samples and various tools based on and around libnfc and crapto1, with emphasis on Mifare Classic NXP/Philips RFID cards. Special emphasis of the toolkit is on the following:

  1. mifare classic weakness demonstration/exploitation
  2. demonstrate use of libnfc (and ACR122 readers)
  3. demonstrate use of Crapto1 implementation to confirm internal workings and to verify theoretical/practical weaknesses/attacks.

There are three methods to install mfcuk on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mfcuk Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install mfcuk using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install mfcuk

Install mfcuk Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install mfcuk using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install mfcuk

Install mfcuk Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install mfcuk using aptitude by running the following command:
