How To Install metamath on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install metamath on Kali Linux.

What is metamath

metamath is:

Metamath is a tiny language for expressing theorems in abstract mathematics, accompanied by proofs that can be verified by a computer program.

This program is the reference implementation of the language. It provides a proof checker, a proof editor and tools to automatically render theorems and proofs to HTML and LaTeX files.

This package does not contain proof databases, but the tools to deal with them. The user can create their own databases, use those available on the Internet or provided by the metamath-databases package.

There are three methods to install metamath on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install metamath Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install metamath using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install metamath

After updating apt database, We can install metamath using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install metamath using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install metamath

How To Uninstall metamath on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the metamath package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove metamath

Uninstall metamath And Its Dependencies

To uninstall metamath and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove metamath

Remove metamath Configurations and Data

To remove metamath configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge metamath

Remove metamath configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove metamath configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge metamath
