How To Install meshlab on Debian 11

What is meshlab
meshlab is:
This is an open source, portable, and extendible system for the processing and editing of unstructured 3D triangular meshes. The system is aimed to help the processing of the typical not-so-small unstructured models arising in 3D scanning, providing a set of tools for editing, cleaning, healing, inspecting, rendering and converting this kind of meshes.
Meshlab can read files in these formats: PLY, STL, OFF, OBJ, 3DS, COLLADA and PTX. It can write PLY, STL, OFF, OBJ, 3DS, COLLADA, VRML, and DXF.
There are three methods to install meshlab
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install meshlab Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install meshlab
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install meshlab

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install meshlab
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install meshlab
Install meshlab Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install meshlab
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install meshlab
How To Uninstall meshlab on Debian 11
To uninstall only the meshlab
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove meshlab
Uninstall meshlab And Its Dependencies
To uninstall meshlab
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove meshlab
Remove meshlab Configurations and Data
To remove meshlab
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge meshlab
Remove meshlab configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove meshlab
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
