How To Install memcachedb on Ubuntu 18.04

on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is memcachedb
memcachedb is:
Memcachedb is a distributed key-value storage system designed for persistent data. It is NOT a cache solution, but a persistent storage engine for fast and reliable key-value based object storage and retrieval.
It conforms to the memcache protocol, so any memcached client can have connectivity with it. Memcachedb uses Berkeley DB as a storing backend, so lots of features including transactions and replication are available.
There are three methods to install memcachedb
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install memcachedb Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install memcachedb
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install memcachedb
Install memcachedb Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install memcachedb
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install memcachedb
Install memcachedb Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install memcachedb
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install memcachedb
How To Uninstall memcachedb on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the memcachedb
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove memcachedb
Uninstall memcachedb And Its Dependencies
To uninstall memcachedb
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove memcachedb
Remove memcachedb Configurations and Data
To remove memcachedb
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge memcachedb
Remove memcachedb configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove memcachedb
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge memcachedb
