How To Install maxima-sage on Ubuntu 18.04

What is maxima-sage
maxima-sage is:
Maxima is a fully symbolic computation program. It is full featured doing symbolic manipulation of polynomials, matrices, rational functions, integration, Todd-coxeter methods for finite group analysis, graphing, multiple precision floating point computation. It has a symbolic source level debugger for maxima code. Maxima is based on the original Macsyma developed at MIT in the 1970s. It is quite reliable, and has good garbage collection, and no memory leaks. It comes with hundreds of self tests.
The maxima-sage packages are meant to be used together with SageMath. They contain the version of Maxima that works together with the SageMath version in Debian and use ECL instead of GCL as Lisp compiler. To use Maxima by itself, the more complete and up-to-date maxima package is recommended.
This package contains the main executables and base system files.
There are three methods to install maxima-sage on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install maxima-sage Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install maxima-sage using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install maxima-sage using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install maxima-sage
Install maxima-sage Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install maxima-sage using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install maxima-sage
How To Uninstall maxima-sage on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the maxima-sage package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove maxima-sage
Uninstall maxima-sage And Its Dependencies
To uninstall maxima-sage and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove maxima-sage
Remove maxima-sage Configurations and Data
To remove maxima-sage configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge maxima-sage
Remove maxima-sage configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove maxima-sage configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge maxima-sage
