This plugin provides the capability to package the artifact in an uber-jar, including its dependencies and to shade - i.e. rename - the packages of some of the dependencies.

We can use yum or dnf to install maven-shade-plugin on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install maven-shade-plugin.

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache
