What is matlab-zmat

matlab-zmat is:

ZMat is a portable mex function to enable zlib/gzip/lzma/lzip/lz4/lz4hc based data compression/decompression and base64 encoding/decoding support in MATLAB and GNU Octave.

This package builds MATLAB bindings for zmat at installation time. Note that this package depends on MATLAB – a commercial software that needs to be obtain and installed separately.

There are three methods to install matlab-zmat on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install matlab-zmat Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install matlab-zmat using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install matlab-zmat

Install matlab-zmat Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install matlab-zmat using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install matlab-zmat

Install matlab-zmat Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install matlab-zmat using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install matlab-zmat

How To Uninstall matlab-zmat on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the matlab-zmat package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove matlab-zmat

Uninstall matlab-zmat And Its Dependencies

To uninstall matlab-zmat and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove matlab-zmat

Remove matlab-zmat Configurations and Data

To remove matlab-zmat configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge matlab-zmat
