How To Install matlab-support on Ubuntu 18.04

What is matlab-support
matlab-support is:
This package does not provide MATLAB. Instead, it configures an existing MATLAB installation to integrate more comfortably in a Debian installation.
Currently it provides /usr/bin/matlab through the alternatives system, offers to work around incompatibilities between the libraries bundled with MATLAB and system libraries, and provides a helper utility meant to be used by other packages to compile MEX extensions.
Install this if you would like your MATLAB installation to behave more like an ordinary Debian package. Other packages may depend on this one if they install MATLAB code, for example in order to compile MEX extensions.
There are three methods to install matlab-support
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get

sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install matlab-support

After updating apt database, We can install matlab-support

Install matlab-support Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install matlab-support
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install matlab-support
How To Uninstall matlab-support on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the matlab-support
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove matlab-support
Uninstall matlab-support And Its Dependencies
To uninstall matlab-support
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove matlab-support
Remove matlab-support Configurations and Data
To remove matlab-support
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge matlab-support
Remove matlab-support configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove matlab-support
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge matlab-support
