How To Install mathgl on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install mathgl on Kali Linux.
What is mathgl
mathgl is:
A free cross-platform library of fast C++ routines for plotting data in up to 3 dimensions. It can export plots to bitmaps and vector EPS, SVG, IDTF files. There are simple window interfaces based on GLUT, FLTK and/or Qt. MathGL can also be used in the console. There are interfaces to a set of languages, such as, C, Fortran, Pascal, Forth, Python, Octave.
This package contains MathGL utilities and examples.
There are three methods to install mathgl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mathgl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install mathgl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mathglInstall mathgl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install mathgl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mathglInstall mathgl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install mathgl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mathglHow To Uninstall mathgl on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the mathgl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mathglUninstall mathgl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mathgl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mathglRemove mathgl Configurations and Data
To remove mathgl configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mathglRemove mathgl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mathgl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge mathglDependencies
