How To Install mat on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install mat on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is mat
mat is:
Metadata consist of information that characterizes data. Metadata are used to provide documentation for data products. In essence, metadata answer who, what, when, where, why, and how about every facet of the data that are being documented.
Metadata within a file can tell a lot about you. Cameras record data about when a picture was taken and what camera was used. Office documents like PDF or Office automatically adds author and company information to documents and spreadsheets.
Maybe you don’t want to disclose those information on the web.
MAT only removes metadata from your files, it does not anonymise their content, nor can it handle watermarking, steganography, or any too custom metadata field/system.
If you really want to be anonymous, use file formats that does not contain any metadata, or better: use plain-text.

There are three methods to install mat on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mat Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mat using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mat

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install mat using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mat
Install mat Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install mat using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall mat on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the mat package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mat
Remove mat Configurations and Data
To remove mat configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mat
