In this tutorial we learn how to install man-pages-zh-CN
on CentOS 7.
What is man-pages-zh-CN
manpages-zh is a sub-project from i18n-zh, from the Chinese Man Pages Project (CMPP). However, the original CMPP seems inactive, nor can the original home page (cmpp.linuxforum.net) be visited. This project revives and maintains the remains of CMPP. So far the simplified Chinese is packed.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install man-pages-zh-CN
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install man-pages-zh-CN.
Install man-pages-zh-CN on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install man-pages-zh-CN
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install man-pages-zh-CN
Install man-pages-zh-CN on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install man-pages-zh-CN
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install man-pages-zh-CN
How To Uninstall man-pages-zh-CN on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the man-pages-zh-CN
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove man-pages-zh-CN
