How To Install maliit-keyboard on Debian 12

What is maliit-keyboard
maliit-keyboard is:
Maliit Keyboard is a virtual keyboard for Linux systems with Wayland and X11 display servers. It supports many different languages and emoji. It is implemented as a plug-in for Maliit Framework.
Maliit Keyboard evolved from the reference keyboard plug-in, Ubuntu Keyboard and Lomiri Keyboard. Ubuntu Keyboard was a fork of the reference plugin which was taking into account the special UI/UX needs of Ubuntu Phone.
There are three methods to install maliit-keyboard on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install maliit-keyboard Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install maliit-keyboard using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install maliit-keyboard
Install maliit-keyboard Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install maliit-keyboard using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install maliit-keyboard
Install maliit-keyboard Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install maliit-keyboard using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install maliit-keyboard
How To Uninstall maliit-keyboard on Debian 12
To uninstall only the maliit-keyboard package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove maliit-keyboard
Uninstall maliit-keyboard And Its Dependencies
To uninstall maliit-keyboard and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove maliit-keyboard
Remove maliit-keyboard Configurations and Data
To remove maliit-keyboard configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge maliit-keyboard
Remove maliit-keyboard configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
