How To Install mail-notification on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install mail-notification
on CentOS 7.
What is mail-notification
Mail Notification is a status icon (aka tray icon) that informs you if you have new mail. It works with system trays implementing the freedesktop.org System Tray Specification, such as the GNOME Panel Notification Area, the Xfce Notification Area and the KDE System Tray.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mail-notification
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mail-notification.
Install mail-notification on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install mail-notification
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
