How To Install magnum-api on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install magnum-api on Kali Linux.
What is magnum-api
magnum-api is:
Magnum is an OpenStack project which offers container orchestration engines for deploying and managing containers as first class resources in OpenStack. It features:
- Abstractions for bays, containers, nodes, pods, replication controllers, and services
- Integration with Kubernetes and Docker for backend container technology
- Integration with Keystone for multi-tenant security
- Integration with Neutron for Kubernetes multi-tenancy network security
This package contains the API server.
There are three methods to install magnum-api on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install magnum-api Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install magnum-api using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install magnum-apiInstall magnum-api Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install magnum-api using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install magnum-apiInstall magnum-api Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install magnum-api using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install magnum-apiHow To Uninstall magnum-api on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the magnum-api package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove magnum-apiUninstall magnum-api And Its Dependencies
To uninstall magnum-api and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove magnum-apiRemove magnum-api Configurations and Data
To remove magnum-api configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge magnum-apiRemove magnum-api configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove magnum-api configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge magnum-apiDependencies
magnum-api have the following dependencies:
