How To Install madwimax on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install madwimax on Kali Linux.
What is madwimax
madwimax is:
madwimax is an experimental reverse-engineered Linux driver for mobile WiMAX (802.16e) devices based on Samsung CMC-730 chip. These devices are currently supported:
- Samsung SWC-U200
- Samsung SWC-E100
- Samsung SWM-S10R (it is built in Samsung NC-10 netbook)
This package contains the user-space standalone implementation of the driver. It requires Universal TUN/TAP support in your kernel.
There are three methods to install madwimax on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install madwimax Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install madwimax using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install madwimaxInstall madwimax Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install madwimax using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install madwimaxInstall madwimax Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install madwimax using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install madwimaxHow To Uninstall madwimax on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the madwimax package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove madwimaxUninstall madwimax And Its Dependencies
To uninstall madwimax and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove madwimaxRemove madwimax Configurations and Data
To remove madwimax configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge madwimaxRemove madwimax configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove madwimax configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge madwimaxDependencies
