How To Install lzop on Ubuntu 20.04
Introduction

What is lzop
lzop is:
lzop is a compressor similar to gzip. Its main advantages over gzip are much higher compression and decompression speed. lzop was designed with the following goals in mind:

- reasonable drop-in compatibility with gzip

There are three methods to install lzop on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lzop Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lzop using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install lzop using apt by running the following command:

Install lzop Using aptitude

How To Uninstall lzop on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the lzop package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lzop

To uninstall lzop and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lzop
Remove lzop Configurations and Data
To remove lzop configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lzop
