How To Install lzma-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install lzma-dev on Kali Linux.
What is lzma-dev
lzma-dev is:
The Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain Algorithm is a compression method based on the famous LZ77 algorithm, and was first introduced by 7-Zip for use in 7z archives.
Its main characteristics are a very high compression ratio, with high RAM usage, and fast decompression, with low RAM usage. These properties make it well suited to embedded uses, such as for ROM (firmware) compression.
This package contains the headers and libraries of lzma. It is experimental and will be replaced by the library as soon as it is available.
There are three methods to install lzma-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lzma-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lzma-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lzma-devInstall lzma-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lzma-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lzma-devInstall lzma-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lzma-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lzma-devHow To Uninstall lzma-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the lzma-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lzma-devUninstall lzma-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lzma-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lzma-devRemove lzma-dev Configurations and Data
To remove lzma-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lzma-devRemove lzma-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lzma-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
