How To Install lxde-core on Kali Linux

What is lxde-core
lxde-core is:
The Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment (LXDE) is a project aimed to provide a desktop environment which is lightweight and fast.
This package is a metapackage which depends on minimal LXDE components set required to get a working desktop - pcmanfm, lxpanel, and lxde-session. This package also recommends few the most useful applications such as terminal emulator, notification-daemon, and xscreensaver.
If you just want to pick and choose the core components then feel free to remove this package.
There are three methods to install lxde-core on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lxde-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lxde-core using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lxde-coreInstall lxde-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lxde-core using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lxde-coreInstall lxde-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lxde-core using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lxde-coreHow To Uninstall lxde-core on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the lxde-core package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lxde-coreUninstall lxde-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lxde-core and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lxde-coreRemove lxde-core Configurations and Data
To remove lxde-core configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lxde-coreRemove lxde-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lxde-core configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lxde-coreDependencies
