What is lxcfs

lxcfs is:

LXCFS provides a FUSE based filesystem to improve the LXC experience within the containers.

This filesystem offers both a cgroupfs-like view for use by unprivileged containers which wouldn’t otherwise be allowed to mount cgroupfs. And a set of files that are meant to be bind-mounted over their /proc equivalent to make them cgroup-aware.

There are three methods to install lxcfs on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install lxcfs Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install lxcfs using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install lxcfs
