How To Install lxc-tests on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is lxc-tests
lxc-tests is:
Containers are insulated areas inside a system, which have their own namespace for filesystem, network, PID, IPC, CPU and memory allocation and which can be created using the Control Group and Namespace features included in the Linux kernel.
This package contains the test binaries. Those binaries are primarily used for autopkgtest and by some developers. They are not meant to be installed on regular user systems.
There are three methods to install lxc-tests
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lxc-tests Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lxc-tests
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lxc-tests

using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install lxc-tests

Install lxc-tests Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install lxc-tests
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lxc-tests
How To Uninstall lxc-tests on Debian 9
To uninstall only the lxc-tests
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lxc-tests
Uninstall lxc-tests And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lxc-tests
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lxc-tests
Remove lxc-tests Configurations and Data
To remove lxc-tests
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lxc-tests
