How To Install lunar on Ubuntu 20.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lunar
on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is lunar
lunar is:
The program performs date conversion between the Gregorian Solar Calendar (SC) and the Chinese Lunar Calendar (LC). Given a date in either calendar, the program also outputs the corresponding “shengxiao” animal of the year) and “ganzhi” characters. The date range currently covered is from about 1900 A.D. to 2049 A.D.
There are three methods to install lunar
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get

Install lunar Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install lunar
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lunar
How To Uninstall lunar on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the lunar
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lunar
Uninstall lunar And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lunar
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lunar
Remove lunar Configurations and Data
To remove lunar
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lunar
Remove lunar configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lunar
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lunar
