How To Install lua-ldap on Debian 11

What is lua-ldap

This package contains the Lua LDAP library to:
- Connect to an LDAP server (OpenLDAP or ADSI/WinLDAP);
- Execute any operation (search, add, compare, delete, modify and rename);
- Retrieve entries and references of the search result.
This package contains the runtime library.
There are three methods to install lua-ldap
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install lua-ldap Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lua-ldap
using apt-get

sudo apt-get -y install lua-ldap

After updating apt database, We can install lua-ldap

Install lua-ldap Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install lua-ldap
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lua-ldap
How To Uninstall lua-ldap on Debian 11
To uninstall only the lua-ldap
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lua-ldap
Uninstall lua-ldap And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lua-ldap
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lua-ldap
Remove lua-ldap Configurations and Data
To remove lua-ldap
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lua-ldap
