What is lua-geoip

This package contains bindings for the GeoIP library for the Lua language. It allows one to find the country and the city that any IP address or hostname originates from. It uses a file based database, not reverse DNS lookups.

There are three methods to install lua-geoip on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install lua-geoip Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install lua-geoip using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install lua-geoip using apt by running the following command:

Install lua-geoip Using aptitude
