How To Install lua-busted on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lua-busted on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is lua-busted
lua-busted is:
busted test specs read naturally without being too verbose. You can even chain asserts and negations, such as assert.not.equals. Nest blocks of tests with contextual descriptions using describe, and add tags to blocks so you can run arbitrary groups of tests.
An extensible assert library allows you to extend and craft your own assert functions specific to your case with method chaining. A modular output library lets you add on your own output format, along with the default pretty and plain terminal output, JSON with and without streaming, and TAP-compatible output that allows you to run busted specs within most CI servers. You can even register phrases for internationaliation with custom or built-in language packs.
There are three methods to install lua-busted on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lua-busted Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lua-busted using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lua-busted
Install lua-busted Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install lua-busted using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lua-busted
Install lua-busted Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install lua-busted using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lua-busted
How To Uninstall lua-busted on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the lua-busted package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lua-busted
Uninstall lua-busted And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lua-busted and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lua-busted
Remove lua-busted Configurations and Data
To remove lua-busted configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lua-busted
Remove lua-busted configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lua-busted configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lua-busted
