How To Install lsh-client on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lsh-client on Kali Linux.
What is lsh-client
lsh-client is:
lsh is a GPLed implementation of the Secure SHell protocol version 2 (SSH2), a secure replacement for rlogin, rsh, and rcp.
This package contains the lsh client used to log in to a remote lsh or SSH2 server.
In some countries it may be illegal to use any encryption at all without a special permit.
There are three methods to install lsh-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lsh-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lsh-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lsh-clientInstall lsh-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lsh-client using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lsh-clientInstall lsh-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lsh-client using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lsh-clientHow To Uninstall lsh-client on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the lsh-client package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lsh-clientUninstall lsh-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lsh-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lsh-clientRemove lsh-client Configurations and Data
To remove lsh-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lsh-clientRemove lsh-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lsh-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lsh-clientDependencies
