How To Install lpctools on Debian 11
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lpctools
on Debian 11.
What is lpctools
lpctools is:
LPCTools is an interface to NXP LPC Microcontrollers ISP (In-System Programming) serial interface.
It provides two programs:
- lpcisp: this tool gives access to each of the useful isp commands on LPC devices. It does not provide wrappers for flashing a device.
- lpcprog: this tool does not give access to each isp command, instead it provides wrappers for flashing a device. This tool gives access to each of the useful isp commands on LPC.
There are three methods to install lpctools
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lpctools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lpctools
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install lpctools

How To Uninstall lpctools on Debian 11
To uninstall only the lpctools
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lpctools
Uninstall lpctools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lpctools
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lpctools
Remove lpctools Configurations and Data
To remove lpctools
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lpctools
