How To Install logcentral on Ubuntu 18.04

What is logcentral
logcentral is:
Monitoring distributed applications that are spread over a network is not an easy task. Information from several sources must be gathered, filtered and distributed to visualisation tools.
LogService is a system that simplifies this task. It acts as a common base between an application and it’s visualisation tools. It also provides a mechanism to classify and filter messages in a general way and other functions are needed to monitor distributed applications.
The service is named LogCentral.
There are three methods to install logcentral on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install logcentral Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install logcentral using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install logcentral
Install logcentral Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install logcentral using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install logcentral
Install logcentral Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install logcentral using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install logcentral
How To Uninstall logcentral on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the logcentral package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove logcentral
Uninstall logcentral And Its Dependencies
To uninstall logcentral and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove logcentral
Remove logcentral Configurations and Data
To remove logcentral configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge logcentral
Remove logcentral configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove logcentral configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge logcentral
