How To Install lockout on Kali Linux

on Kali Linux.
What is lockout
lockout is:
Lockout is a tool that imposes discipline on you so that you get some work done. For example, lockout can be used to install a firewall that does not let you browse the Web. Lockout changes the root password for a specified duration; this prevents you from secretly ripping down the firewall and then browsing the Web anyway. In case of an emergency, you can reboot your computer to undo the effects of lockout and to restore the original root password.
There are three methods to install lockout
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lockout Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lockout
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lockout
Install lockout Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install lockout
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lockout
Install lockout Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install lockout
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lockout
How To Uninstall lockout on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the lockout
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lockout
Uninstall lockout And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lockout
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lockout
Remove lockout Configurations and Data
To remove lockout
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lockout
