How To Install linphone on Debian 9

Linphone is an audio and video internet phone using the SIP protocol. It has a GTK+ and console interface, includes a large variety of audio and video codecs, and provides IM features.

- it includes a large variety of codecs with different quality / bandwidths;
- it uses the well-known and standardised SIP protocol.
There are three methods to install linphone on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install linphone Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install linphone using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install linphone

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install linphone using apt by running the following command:
