What is lilv-utils

lilv-utils is:

Lilv (formerly SLV2) is a library for LV2 hosts intended to make using LV2 Plugins as simple as possible (without sacrificing capabilities).

Lilv is the successor to SLV2, rewritten to be significantly faster and have minimal dependencies.

This package provides the following utilities:

  • lv2info - Extract information about an installed LV2 plugin.
  • lv2ls - List all installed LV2 plugins.
  • lv2apply - Apply an LV2 plugin to an audio file.
  • lv2bench - Benchmark all installed and supported LV2 plugins.
  • lilv-bench

There are three methods to install lilv-utils on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install lilv-utils Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install lilv-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install lilv-utils

Install lilv-utils Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install lilv-utils using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install lilv-utils

Install lilv-utils Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install lilv-utils using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install lilv-utils

How To Uninstall lilv-utils on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the lilv-utils package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove lilv-utils

Uninstall lilv-utils And Its Dependencies

To uninstall lilv-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove lilv-utils

Remove lilv-utils Configurations and Data

To remove lilv-utils configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge lilv-utils

Remove lilv-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove lilv-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lilv-utils
