What is libzed-ocaml

Zed uses Camomile to fully support the Unicode specification, and implements an UTF-8 encoded string type with validation, and a rope datastructure to achieve efficient operations on large Unicode buffers. Zed also features a regular expression search on ropes.

To support efficient text edition capabilities, Zed provides macro recording and cursor management facilities.

This package contains the runtime libraries for programs using zed.

There are three methods to install libzed-ocaml on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libzed-ocaml Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libzed-ocaml using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libzed-ocaml

Install libzed-ocaml Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libzed-ocaml using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libzed-ocaml

Install libzed-ocaml Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libzed-ocaml using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libzed-ocaml

How To Uninstall libzed-ocaml on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the libzed-ocaml package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libzed-ocaml

Uninstall libzed-ocaml And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libzed-ocaml and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libzed-ocaml

Remove libzed-ocaml Configurations and Data

To remove libzed-ocaml configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libzed-ocaml

Remove libzed-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libzed-ocaml configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libzed-ocaml
