How To Install libxs2 on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libxs2
libxs2 is:
Crossroads I/O (“libxs”) is a library for building scalable and high performance distributed applications. It fits between classic BSD sockets, JMS/AMQP-style message queues, and enterprise message-oriented middleware.
Crossroads I/O extends the standard socket interfaces with features traditionally provided by specialised messaging middleware products, providing an abstraction of asynchronous message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple transport protocols, and more.
This package contains the libxs shared library.
There are three methods to install libxs2 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libxs2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libxs2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libxs2
Install libxs2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libxs2 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libxs2
Install libxs2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libxs2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libxs2
How To Uninstall libxs2 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libxs2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libxs2
Uninstall libxs2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libxs2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libxs2
Remove libxs2 Configurations and Data
To remove libxs2 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libxs2
Remove libxs2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libxs2 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libxs2
