How To Install libxmp-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libxmp-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libxmp-dev
libxmp-dev is:
libxmp is a library designed to interpret module files and produce PCM audio. It supports over 90 formats including Protracker (MOD), Scream Tracker 3 (S3M), Fast Tracker II (XM) and Impulse Tracker (IT).
This package contains the development files required to build with libxmp.
There are three methods to install libxmp-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libxmp-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libxmp-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libxmp-devInstall libxmp-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libxmp-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libxmp-devInstall libxmp-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libxmp-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libxmp-devHow To Uninstall libxmp-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libxmp-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libxmp-devUninstall libxmp-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libxmp-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libxmp-devRemove libxmp-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libxmp-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libxmp-devRemove libxmp-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
