How To Install libxml2-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libxml2-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libxml2-dev
libxml2-dev is:
XML is a metalanguage to let you design your own markup language. A regular markup language defines a way to describe information in a certain class of documents (eg HTML). XML lets you define your own customized markup languages for many classes of document. It can do this because it’s written in SGML, the international standard metalanguage for markup languages.
Install this package if you wish to develop your own programs using the GNOME XML library.
There are three methods to install libxml2-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libxml2-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libxml2-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libxml2-devInstall libxml2-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libxml2-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libxml2-devInstall libxml2-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libxml2-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libxml2-devHow To Uninstall libxml2-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libxml2-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libxml2-devUninstall libxml2-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libxml2-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libxml2-devRemove libxml2-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libxml2-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libxml2-devRemove libxml2-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libxml2-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libxml2-devDependencies
