How To Install libx264-dev on Kali Linux

What is libx264-dev
libx264-dev is:
libx264 is an advanced encoding library for creating H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC) video streams.
This package contains the static library and headers used to build programs that use libx264.
There are three methods to install libx264-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libx264-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libx264-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libx264-devInstall libx264-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libx264-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libx264-devInstall libx264-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libx264-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libx264-devHow To Uninstall libx264-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libx264-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libx264-devUninstall libx264-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libx264-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libx264-devRemove libx264-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libx264-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libx264-devRemove libx264-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
