How To Install libx11-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libx11-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libx11-dev
libx11-dev is:
This package provides a client interface to the X Window System, otherwise known as ‘Xlib’. It provides a complete API for the basic functions of the window system.
This package contains the development headers for the library found in libx11-6. Non-developers likely have little use for this package.

There are three methods to install libx11-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libx11-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libx11-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libx11-devInstall libx11-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libx11-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libx11-devInstall libx11-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libx11-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libx11-devHow To Uninstall libx11-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libx11-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libx11-devUninstall libx11-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libx11-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libx11-devRemove libx11-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libx11-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libx11-devRemove libx11-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libx11-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libx11-devDependencies
