How To Install libvte-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

The VTE library provides a terminal emulator widget VteTerminal for applications using the GTK+ toolkit. It also provides the VtePTY object containing functions for starting a new process on a new pseudo-terminal and for manipulating pseudo-terminals.
This package contains development files for the VTE library and its Python bindings. It is needed to develop and build programs using the VTE widget with GTK+ 2.0.
There are three methods to install libvte-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libvte-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

To remove libvte-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libvte-dev
