How To Install libvmime-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libvmime-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libvmime-dev
libvmime-dev is:
VMime is a powerful C++ class library for parsing, generating, or editing Internet RFC-[2]822 and MIME messages. VMime is designed to provide a fast and an easy way to manipulate Internet mail messages.
The recent releases of VMime also include support for using messaging protocols (POP3, IMAP, SMTP and maildir) with a lot of features supported: listing folders, downloading and adding messages to folders, extracting parts from message, getting and setting message flags, and a lot more.
This package contains the development headers and the static library to develop applications using the libvmime.
There are three methods to install libvmime-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libvmime-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvmime-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libvmime-devInstall libvmime-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvmime-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvmime-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libvmime-devHow To Uninstall libvmime-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libvmime-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libvmime-devUninstall libvmime-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libvmime-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libvmime-devRemove libvmime-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libvmime-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libvmime-devRemove libvmime-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
