How To Install libvlccore-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libvlccore-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libvlccore-dev
libvlccore-dev is:
VLC is the VideoLAN project’s media player. It plays MPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MOV, WMV, QuickTime, WebM, FLAC, MP3, Ogg/Vorbis files, DVDs, VCDs, podcasts, and multimedia streams from various network sources.
This package contains headers and a static library required to build plugins for VLC.
There are three methods to install libvlccore-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libvlccore-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvlccore-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libvlccore-devInstall libvlccore-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvlccore-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvlccore-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the libvlccore-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libvlccore-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libvlccore-devRemove libvlccore-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libvlccore-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libvlccore-devRemove libvlccore-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
