How To Install libvisual on AlmaLinux 8

What is libvisual
Libvisual is an abstraction library that comes between applications and audio visualisation plugins. Often when it comes to audio visualisation plugins or programs that create visuals they do depend on a player or something else, basically there is no general framework that enable application developers to easy access cool audio visualisation plugins. Libvisual wants to change this by providing an interface towards plugins and applications, through this easy to use interface applications can easily access plugins and since the drawing is done by the application it also enables the developer to draw the visual anywhere he wants.
We can use yum or dnf to install libvisual on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libvisual.
Install libvisual on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libvisual using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libvisual
Install libvisual on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libvisual using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libvisual
How To Uninstall libvisual on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the libvisual package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libvisual
