How To Install libview2 on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libview2
libview2 is:
libview is VMware’s Incredibly Exciting Widgets, a useful collection of GTK+ widgets used within VMware products, free for everybody’s use.
This library consists of several widgets that are used by VMware in Workstation and other products and has been given back to the OSS community. These widgets are under the MIT license and are largely written in C++ for GTKMM.

There are three methods to install libview2
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install libview2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libview2
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libview2
Install libview2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libview2
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libview2
Install libview2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install libview2

How To Uninstall libview2 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libview2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libview2
Uninstall libview2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libview2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libview2
Remove libview2 Configurations and Data
To remove libview2
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libview2
Remove libview2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libview2
