How To Install libview2 on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libview2 on Kali Linux.
What is libview2
libview2 is:
libview is VMware’s Incredibly Exciting Widgets, a useful collection of GTK+ widgets used within VMware products, free for everybody’s use.
This library consists of several widgets that are used by VMware in Workstation and other products and has been given back to the OSS community. These widgets are under the MIT license and are largely written in C++ for GTKMM.
This is the library package.
There are three methods to install libview2 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libview2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libview2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libview2Install libview2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libview2 using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libview2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libview2Uninstall libview2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libview2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libview2Remove libview2 Configurations and Data
To remove libview2 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libview2Remove libview2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libview2 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
