How To Install libvc-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libvc-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libvc-dev
libvc-dev is:
vCard is an Electronic Business Card format, as specified by the versit Consortium, useful for storing personal data. libvc handles scanning a vCard file, parsing the vCard file into a data storage structure, manipulating the data storage structure, and writing back to file. It was originally written for `rolo’, but has been split-off as a generic library for general use.
This package contains static library, headers, and the development manpage for libvc.
There are three methods to install libvc-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libvc-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvc-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libvc-devInstall libvc-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvc-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libvc-devInstall libvc-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libvc-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libvc-devHow To Uninstall libvc-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libvc-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libvc-devUninstall libvc-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libvc-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libvc-devRemove libvc-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libvc-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libvc-devRemove libvc-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libvc-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libvc-devDependencies
