How To Install libupb-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libupb-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libupb-dev
libupb-dev is:
upb generates a C API for creating, parsing, and serializing messages as declared in .proto files. upb is heavily arena-based: all messages always live in an arena (note: the arena can live in stack or static memory if desired).
This package contains the development headers needed for upb.
There are three methods to install libupb-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libupb-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libupb-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libupb-devInstall libupb-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libupb-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libupb-devInstall libupb-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libupb-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libupb-devHow To Uninstall libupb-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libupb-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libupb-devUninstall libupb-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libupb-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libupb-devRemove libupb-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libupb-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libupb-devRemove libupb-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
