How To Install libunicode-map-perl on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is libunicode-map-perl
libunicode-map-perl is:
This module converts strings from and to 2-byte Unicode UCS2 format. All mappings happen via 2 byte UTF16 encodings, not via 1 byte UTF8 encoding. To convert between UTF8 and UTF16 use Unicode::String.
For historical reasons this module coexists with Unicode::Map8. Please use Unicode::Map8 unless you need to care for >1 byte character sets, e.g. chinese GB2312. Anyway, if you stick to the basic functionality (see documentation) you can use both modules equivalently.
The ’libwww-perl’ package is needed to run the example mirrorMappings.
There are three methods to install libunicode-map-perl
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libunicode-map-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libunicode-map-perl

How To Uninstall libunicode-map-perl on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libunicode-map-perl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libunicode-map-perl

To uninstall libunicode-map-perl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
