How To Install libuim-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libuim-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libuim-dev
libuim-dev is:
Uim is an input method module library which supports various scripts and can act as a front end for a range of input methods, including Anthy, Canna, or SKK (for Japanese), Pinyin (for Chinese), Byeoru (for Korean), and M17n (for many other languages). Most of its functions are implemented in Scheme, so it’s very simple and flexible.
This package contains header files and static libraries for uim development.
There are three methods to install libuim-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libuim-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libuim-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libuim-devInstall libuim-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libuim-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libuim-devInstall libuim-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libuim-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libuim-devHow To Uninstall libuim-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libuim-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libuim-devUninstall libuim-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libuim-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libuim-devRemove libuim-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libuim-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libuim-devRemove libuim-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
