How To Install libtorch1.13 on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install libtorch1.13 on Debian 12.
What is libtorch1.13
libtorch1.13 is:
PyTorch is a Python package that provides two high-level features:
(1) Tensor computation (like NumPy) with strong GPU acceleration (2) Deep neural networks built on a tape-based autograd system
You can reuse your favorite Python packages such as NumPy, SciPy and Cython to extend PyTorch when needed.
This is the CPU-only version of PyTorch and Caffe2 (Shared Objects).
There are three methods to install libtorch1.13 on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libtorch1.13 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libtorch1.13 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libtorch1.13
Install libtorch1.13 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libtorch1.13 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libtorch1.13
Install libtorch1.13 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libtorch1.13 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libtorch1.13
How To Uninstall libtorch1.13 on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libtorch1.13 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libtorch1.13
Uninstall libtorch1.13 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libtorch1.13 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libtorch1.13
Remove libtorch1.13 Configurations and Data
To remove libtorch1.13 configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libtorch1.13
